Ohhhh Christmas. There are few things I love more than Christmas. So when Olivia and Reese told us they were planning a Christmas wedding at Scarritt Bennett in Nashville we were pretty pumped. And we were especially pumped because the story behind this particular wedding date was one we’d never heard before…. Olivia and Reese were going to become the fourth generation of their family to be married on December 22nd. Reese’s parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all married on December 22nd.
So December 22nd, 2017 arrived in Nashville and the tradition continued. Amidst pouring rain (I mean POURING rain, not just a few sprinkles), Olivia and Reese (and seventeen of their favorite people) got all dressed up, trouped through the rain, and made it official. I remember thinking during their Nashville engagement session at Radnor Lake that it would be pretty hard to imagine them any happier or more giddy than they were as we took their engagement photos. But on their wedding day, they totally were. When Reese saw Olivia in her dress, I don’t think he could have possibly been happier. When they were giggling and cuddling under an umbrella for pictures, they couldn’t have been happier. When their family and friends congratulated them, when they danced and sang and twirled at their reception, they couldn’t have been happier. It was an all-around perfect day and I certainly hope their images do their incredible, contagious joy justice.
