A Classic Pink + Blue Winter Sewanee Inn Wedding
It’s truly been hard to find the words to express how much being a part of Liz + Shannon’s winter Sewanee Inn wedding meant to me. Liz + Shannon had such a lovely, gorgeous weekend marked by intentional, thoughtful hospitality, and it was an honor to be a part of it.
From their relaxed welcome party at Shenanigans (complete with a Grateful Dead cover band, for Shannon!), to their sendoff at the end of a gorgeous chilly wedding day on the mountain, it was so clear that Liz + Shannon’s first priority was their guests. Every detail was stunning (thanks to a phenomenal vendor team), and the Sewanee Inn truly felt like everyone’s home for the weekend. It was the most perfect winter weekend getaway, celebrating the sweetest couple!
And one final note about Liz + Shannon + their families: At the end of their wedding day, Liz’s mom shared with me that part of the family’s vision for this wedding weekend was to work with only women-run small businesses… And I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. I felt that deep support and love for women as a beautiful undercurrent of their entire wedding weekend. I spent the last few minutes of Liz’s prep time quietly shooting candids in the bridal suite at the Sewanee Inn, but secretly my heart was bursting as I watched a dozen women from every walk of Liz’s life find joy in meeting each other for the first time (or seeing each other again). Passing around a friend’s baby. Catching up on career moves and life events. Sharing support… Friendships that have spanned decades. I love being a woman, and that’s a big part of why I love this job: I get to work with so many amazing women vendors. But I also get to meet some amazing women who are supporting dear friends during amazing moments in their lives, and that’s amazing, too. Liz’s family + friends were no different. What a joy to witness.
