Oh my goodness friends, to say I’m excited about this session is the understatement of the year. Pretty much as soon as we met these guys we were absolutely psyched to work with them.
Rachel + Trevor are college sweethearts, and let me tell you…. These two are absolutely smitten. They truly have this sort of old-timey, sweet, kind partnership that is just so lovely to be around. They just fit together, and you really couldn’t find two more kind, good people to hang out with. Rachel just graduated college, Trevor’s out in the working world, and now, they’re starting their lives together. DIYing stuff for their first place together, looking at houses, working their first big kid jobs, dreaming about that big farm house one day… There’s something so awesome to me about a love that times out this way, because you get to be together for all of those transitions. All of those big steps. Tyler and I were like that, and those are some of our favorite memories together. Every couple’s timing is different, but getting to be there for each other during a time when there’s so much growth and change in your life… It’s amazing. And it’s truly one of the best parts of marriage, watching your person grow.
We have a list of “pretty” locations in the area for the perfect Tennessee engagement session, but we always ask our couples to first try to think of a place that is meaningful to them. And for Rachel + Trevor, it just so happens that this stunning farm is that place. Trevor hunts this land, and when they first started dating, they’d come out here to get away from it all… To watch sunsets, check Trevor’s trail cameras, just be together. I love that because that’s so much of what marriage is; finding a place to eliminate the distractions, and just get to know each other. A place that makes you be intentional with your time and your words and your conversation. A place that lets you be yourself and have fun with your person.
We literally cannot wait for this wedding. There’s so much joy in these images, and that has nothing to do with me. I literally can’t even imagine how huge their smiles will be on their wedding day. Rachel + Trevor, thank you for inviting us into this season of your life, and being so welcoming and kind. We see so much of ourselves in you guys, and we’re so, so excited for you two. It’s so clear that you’ve found the one your soul loves, and we’re so privileged to witness this time in your life. :)
